1.  ISBF Senior Investigator Award
 

The purpose of the ISBF’s Senior Investigator Award is to recognize a senior investigator who has made a significant scientific contribution to the field of biofabrication. 

Award Eligibility

The nominated individuals must have received their terminal degree 10 years or greater from the time of the award, and be actively contributing to the field of biofabrication. An individual nominated for the ISBF’s Senior Investigator Award MUST be a member of ISBF and MUST attend the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China.


The nomination package
must include: 1) curriculum vitae, 2) three (3) letters of recommendation, and 3) a one page summary of contributions. The awardee will be selected by the ISBF’s Awards Committee. The selected awardee must confirm attendance at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference.


The Senior Investigator Awardee will be presented with the following:

- Invitation to speak during a plenary session during the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China
- An honorarium of $1,000
- A plaque

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be evaluated by the ISBF’s Awards Committee, consisting of 6 members on the basis of the following criteria:
1)  Levels of productivity in the field of Biofabrication
2)  Significant contribution to the field of Biofabrication
3)  Innovation in the field of Biofabrication

2. ISBF Travel Award for the 2017 Biofabrication Conference

 

The purpose of the ISBF’s Travel Awards is to foster the careers of students and trainees in the field of biofabrication by encouraging them to participate in the 2017 Biofabrication Conference to further develop their scientific minds, interact with other scientists in the field, establish networking and refine their presentation skills. 

Twelve travel awards will
be given to students/trainees this year. All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply. In order to be eligible for the award, the applicant must meet the following criteria

- Currently enrolled as a student OR currently a post-doctoral fellow in training
-
Actively involved in any area of Biofabrication  

- Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China

- Be in attendance at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference

The application package
must include: 1) curriculum vitae, 2) two (2) letters of recommendation, 3) a one page personal statement and 4) accepted abstract. Awardee will be selected by the ISBF’s Awards Committee. The selected awardee must confirm attendance at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference.

The Travel Awardee will be presented with the following:

- Monetary award of $500 towards travel, presented at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China

Recognition at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference

A Certificate

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be evaluated by the ISBF’s Awards Committee, consisting of 6 members on the basis of the following criteria:
1)   Outstanding achievements 
2)   Quality and significance of the “accepted” 2017 Biofabrication Conference abstract. 
3)   Innovation of the research reported in the abstract.

3. ISBF Young Investigator Award

 

The purpose of the ISBF’s Young Investigator award is to recognize outstanding achievements by members of the International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) who are in the early stages of a career in the field of Biofabrication.  


Award Eligibility

All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply. In order to be eligible for the award, the applicant must meet the following criteria: 

- Currently enrolled as a student OR currently a post-doctoral fellow in training

- Actively involved in any area of Biofabrication

- Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China

- Be in attendance at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference

The application package
must include: 1) Application form, 2) Curriculum Vitae, 3) Two (2) letters of recommendation, 4) A one page personal statement and 5) accepted abstract. The awardee will be selected by the ISBF’s Awards Committee. The selected awardee must confirm attendance at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference.

The selected Young Investigator Awardee will be presented with the following:
- Monetary award of $1000, $500 and $250 for the First, Second and Third place, respectively, presented at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference in Beijing, China
- Recognition at the 2017 Biofabrication Conference
- A Certificate 

Selection Criteria

The applicants will be evaluated by the ISBF’s Awards Committee, consisting of 6 members on the basis of the following criteria:
1)  Significance of the Accepted Biofabrication 2017 conference abstract
2)  Overall levels of productivity, contribution and innovation in the field of Biofabrication. 3)  Level and Quality of achievements, i.e., publications, presentations, etc.

4. Wake Forest Institute for
Regenerative Medicine Young Investigator Award

The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine is committed to the development and dissemination of novel therapies for the repair and replacement of diseased tissues and organs.  One way to achieve this goal is to foster the careers of young investigators to encourage them to find solutions to problems in regenerative medicine. As part of this effort, the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine Young Investigator Award will be awarded at the Biofabrication 2017 Conference. The award is designed to recognize outstanding achievements by members of the International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) who are in the early stages of career in biofabrication.  We are pleased to request nominations for the award to be given at the Biofabrication 2017 Conference in Beijing, China.

The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine Young Investigator Award will be presented to one individual in the early stages of their research careers (graduate student or post-doctoral fellow). The awardee will be presented with a certificate of award and a monetary award of $1000 (US).

- A copy of one of the applicant’s Biofabrication 2017 Conference abstracts

All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply. In order to be eligible for the award, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

1) Currently enrolled as a student in an advanced degree program (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) OR currently a post-doctoral fellow

2) Actively involved in any area of biofabrication research

3) Have an accepted abstract for Biofabrication 2017 Conference

4) Be in attendance at Biofabrication 2017 Conference in Beijing, China

5) No affiliation with Wake Forest University or Wake Forest University Health Sciences

The award winner will be selected by a review panel and award will be presented at the Biofabrication 2017 Conference in Beijing, China.

5. IOP Biofabrication Poster Award
 

Abstract authors chosen as poster presentation are eligible for the IOP Biofabrication poster award for the best poster presenting a novel development in fabrication science and technology. Posters will be reviewed by a committee.
